Jigawa Governor approves N17m for COE casual workers

The Management of Jigawa state College of Education, Gumel has lauded Gov. Umar Namadi for the release of over N17 million for the settlement of outstanding payment for casual workers disengaged in 2023.
This is contained in a statement made available to The Syndicate by the registerer of the college, Malam Bala Isyaku on Monday in Dutse.
Isyaku said that the college had already started the payment to the beneficiaries.
“The total sum N17,028,000 is for 203 casual staff whom were disengaged in 2023 after successfully screened by the committee set up by the college.
“The collage commenced the payment via online through the United Bank for Africa (UBA) last Friday 22/10/24 after the conclusion of the screening exercise conducted by the management staff with supervision of Council members,” he said.
Isyaku said however, that there were about 14 casual workers who were yet to appear for verification, urging them to avail themselves at the college for screening for immediate payment.
Isyaku expressed the college provost’s appreciation to the governor for his passion toward transforming the education sector in the state.
