Jigawa inaugurates steering committee for Polling Units Development Funds

In a significant step towards grassroots development, the Jigawa State Government has inaugurated the State Steering Committee for the implementation of the Polling Units Development Funds Law.

Inaugurating, the Committee, the Secretary to the Government of Jigawa State Malam Bala Ibrahim congratulated the committee members on their appointments, emphasizing the confidence placed in them by Gov. Umar Namadi.
He highlighted that the newly enacted law aims to bridge the gap between government policies and the immediate needs of citizens, particularly at the grassroots level.

He explained that the committee is responsible for providing guidance, coordination, monitoring, and oversight to ensure the successful implementation of the development funds program across the state.

Ibrahim urged members of the Committee to execute their responsibilities with dedication, fairness, and transparency while promoting community participation in all activities.

Responding on behalf of the committee, Hon. Ibrahim Garba Hannun-Giwa, the Chairman, expressed gratitude to Namadi for the opportunity to serve and assured their commitment to fulfilling their roles in accordance with the law.

The committee comprises of the following members:

3. Dr. Muhammad Hassan – Member

4. Shehu Kaila – Member

5. Garba Muhammad Dutse – Member

6. Abdullahi S.G. Shehu – Member

8. Barrister Usman Adamu – Member

9. Ahmad Garba MK – Member

10. Sibu Abdullahi – Member

11. Adamu Muhammad GBS – Member

12. Muhammad Yusha’u – Secretary

This initiative underscores the Jigawa State government’s commitment to transparency, accountability, and responsive governance aimed at improving the living conditions of its citizens.
