JUST IN: Gumel LGA Chairman Dies at 61

The Chairman of Gumel local government council in Jigawa State, Hon. Lawal Ya’u is dead
Lawal Ya’u, aged 61, died this afternoon at a private hospital in Kano after a brief illness.
A family source while confirming his death, said the late chairman is survived by two wives and many children.
A retired civic servant, Lawal Ya’u was elected Gumel local government council chairman in August 2024. He has been buried according to Islamic rites in his home town Gumel on Saturday evening.
