Winners of maiden Abibatu Tinubu Quranic Recitation receive 4 apartments
Ahmad Shua’aibu and Maryam Abubakar, winners in the male and female categories of the just concluded Abibatu Mogaji Tinubu Quranic Recitation Competition in Kano were on Tuesday presented with the star prizes of three bedroom apartments each.
Sen.Basheer Lado, the Special Adviser to President Bola Tinubu, presented the prizes at a ceremony in Kano.
He also presented a two bedroom apartment each to Ahmad Kabir Baturi and Hassana Shu’aib the runners up in both the male and female categories.
Speaking at the ceremony, Lado, also the Organizer of the competition, said the event held in memory and honour of late Alhaja Abibatu Mogaji Tinubu,the mother of President Bola Tinubu.
Represented by Prof. Ali Muhammad, Deputy Chairman of the Organizing Committee, he said the competition was also organized to inculcate the virtues of the Holy Qur’an in the minds of young Nigerian Muslims.
“This gesture is to encourage and motivate young Muslims to continue memorizing and reciting the Quran and make it a way of life so that they would become patriotic citizens for the good of the nation,” he said.
The Quranic Recitation Competition attracted participants from all the 44 Local Government Areas (LGAs) of the state with over 100 young reciters memorizing the complete Qur’an.
The two-week event held in five categories that included recitation of portions of the Qur’an from 2 Hizb, 10 Hizb, 20 Hizb, 40 Hizb and 60 Hizb for both male and female categories.
