Kano Govt committed to addressing housing deficit 
The Kano State Government says it is committed to addressing the Housing deficit bedeviling the state.
Malam Ibrahim Adamu, the state Commissioner for Housing and Urban Development, said this at his maiden meeting with the management staff of the ministry.
This is contained in a statement issued by Makam Adamu Abdullahi, Director Public Enlightenment of the ministry in Kano on Thursday.
Abdullahi said the State Commissioner said the State Government had confidence in the Ministry to turn around the challenges of housing deficit facing the state.
He said the ministry had within the two months of its establishment identified locations where Housing development schemes were being pursued by the Gov. Abba Yusuf administration at Lambu in Tofa Local Government Area (LGA) Yargaya in Dawakin Kudu LGA and the completion of Kwankwasiyya, Amana and Bandirawo Cities mass housing projects.
Adamu stated that the ministry would strive to initiate more housing schemes for urban and rural development in the state.
He, advised the management staff of the ministry to keep in mind the principles of excellence and teamwork to achieve the desired goals of moving the state forward being pursued by the Yusuf administration.
He also urged the Directors to recommit themselves to the government’s efforts to transform the state.
“The new Ministry of Housing and Urban Development is determined to ensure that every Kano citizen gets access to affordable, safe and dignified housing,” the commissioner added.
