The Kano state government says it plans to launch a five-year multi-sectoral investment strategy aimed at attracting investments and boosting revenue in the state.
The Director-General of Kano State Investment Promotion Agency (Kan-Invest), Malam Muhammad Halliru, said this when he briefed journalists in Kano.
He said that the blueprint was designed to attract local and foreign investors to deploy their resources in key economic sectors and viable commercial deposits in the ancient city.
He said the agency was working on plans to leverage the huge economic deposits in energy, agriculture, health, education, transportation and other areas of trade, industries and manpower.
The DG said that the agency, with the approval of Gov. Abba Yusuf, plans to hold an elaborate event to unveil the strategic plan to open Kano’s window of opportunities to potential business partners within and outside the continent.
He said the agency plans to embark on an enlightenment campaign for local investors and ensure an enabling environment amid incentivised packages.
He said that part of the incentives included easy access to land, friendly services and tax waivers.
