Kano Schools to reopen for 3rd term May 4

The Kano State Government has fixed Monday, May 4 as resumption date for primary and secondary schools in the State for the 2025/2026 academic session.
This is contained in a statement issued by the State Ministry of Education and signed by Director of Public Enlightenment, Mr Musbahu Aminu Yakasai on Friday in Kano.
Yakasai stated that boarding students were expected to return on Sunday, May 3, while day students would resume classes on Monday, May 4.
He directed all school administrators to put all necessary measures in place to ensure a smooth and orderly resumption.
“This includes preparing academic staff, boarding facilities, and ensuring the availability of learning materials to support effective teaching from the first day.
“The Commissioner for Education, Dr. Ali Haruna Abubakar Makoda, urges parents and guardians to ensure their children return promptly in line with the approved schedule.
“Adherence to the timeline is essential for maintaining the academic calendar and maximizing instructional time.
The commissioner wishes students, teachers, and school managers a productive and successful third term,” he said.
