Kano unveils 1st mobile motor license centre in Nigeria
The Kano State Internal Revenue Service has launched the first mobile motor license centre in Nigeria.
The KIRS Executive Chairman, Dr. Zaid Abubakar stated this while launching the mobile centre during KIRS Day at the ongoing 45th Kano International Trade Fair in Kano.
The mobile centre will host a state of the art digital Motor License Office (MLO) which is said to be the first of its kind in the country.
He said the mobile motor license centre introduced by the agency is geared toward a robust revenue generation drive that will improve the state revenue generation.
According to him, Kano State government under Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf is committed to ensuring that revenue is being paid with ease as at when due by eligible bodies.
He explained that the newly introduced IT driven license centre will assist in boosting the state’s Internally Generated Revenue (IGR).
“This facility is first of its kind in Nigeria, that is Kano state is the first to launch such a centre which is IT driven to register vehicles anywhere and at any time. This attempt will ease the process as well as reduce unforeseen obstacles usually encountered,” he said.
The KIRS Executive Director, Compliance and Enforcement Group, Muhammad Abba Aliyu said, the service had launched two mobile centers for now with the hope of expansion with many other mole centres to be able to cover the state effectively.
During the event, Bristol Palace Hotel, Dala Foods Nigeria Limited, Ultimate Gas Limited among other companies were given awards for their effort in prompt payment tax.
