Kebbi Governor Pledges More Investment In Security, Agriculture; Tours 21 LGAs
Kebbi State Governor, Dr. Nasir Idris (Kaura), has begun a statewide tour of the 21 local government areas, pledging more action to enhance security and promote agriculture.
A statement by the governor’s media aide Yahaya Sarki, said that the tour was organised to thank the people for voting him into office during the 2023 general elections.
In Gwandu Local Government, the governor told the hundreds of party supporters and residents that welcomed him, that the administration would do everything possible in delivering meaningful development across the state.
“We are here to thank you for your support, which led to our victory. We will fulfill our promises and ensure the state’s progress,” he added.
Idris appreciated Senator Atiku Bagudu, the Minister of Budget and Economic Planning, for his contributions to the development of the state.
He announced that refunds for the 2023 Hajj pilgrims had commenced and would be handled prudently, and reaffirmed his commitment to the welfare of all citizens.
In his speech, Bagudu praised Governor Idris for his achievements and urged the people to continue supporting his administration.
Also, the APC campaign DG and former Governor Saidu Nasamu Dakingari, lauded the residents for voting decisively for Kaura in the last election.
In Argungu Local Government, the governor reiterated the administration’s commitment to strengthening security, no matter the cost.
“We promised to protect lives and property, and we have delivered. We will continue to ensure peace and tranquility in Kebbi State,” he added.
He urged residents to report suspicious activities to local authorities and security agencies.
Idris, who highlighted the state’s leadership in agriculture, particularly rice production, said the government will provide the needed support to promote the sector.
In Augie, Governor Idris expressed profound gratitude to the people for their overwhelming support during the elections, saying he won in all wards of the area.
He commended the resilience of residents against banditry and highlighted his administration’s measures to restore security and confidence in the region.
Alhaji Bashir Isah Mera, the APC Chairman in Augie LGA, praised the governor for the swift action taken to address the security challenges in the area, including the new terror group, Lakurawa.
He also acknowledged the significant progress made by the administration in agriculture.
Similarly, Senator Bala Ibn Na’Allah said Governor Idris’ victory was a blessing to Kebbi State, and urged residents to support him beyond 2027.
