KIRS Chairman solicits for staff support toward improved revenue generation

 

 

The Executive Chairman, Kano Internal Revenue Service, Dr Zaid Abubakar has solicited for the support and cooperation of the agency’s staff toward improved revenue generation.

 

Abubakar who said  this at the maiden KIRS Award Night, said that the Revenue Generating Organisation within a short span has done well in fetching funds that had been helping the current administration in executing projects that would assist in improving the living standard of the wider public.

 

“These achievements are not by chance but as a result of zeal determination, commitment, passion, tenacity and level of patriotism of all, reiterating his resolve to take the outfit to enviable height in the area of fetching revenue not in Nigeria alone but rather in sub Saharan Africa,” he said.

 

He used the occasion to commend their partners for their level of support, cooperation and understanding in whatever way possible hoping the tempo will be sustained.

 

In his remark, the state’s commissioner for Finance, Mr Samaila Danmaraya, represented by the Permanent Secretary of the Ministry, Mr Sabi’u Shu’aibu described revenue generation as the basis of development, decrying the challenges suffered in the past which he said was not unconnected with lack of tenacity and seriousness.

 

Isah Yakubu Yargaya, who won the Best Staff of the year award, went home with N1.5 million cash and a house gift under the Renew Hope Housing Estate of the Federal Government.

 

Another staff, Zaharaddeen Idris Umar who won the prestigious outstanding performing Staff Award, carted home with N1 million cash and a house courtesy of the Renew Hope Agenda.

 

Other winners were presented with the gift of N500,000 each.

 

Speaking , the state commissioner for Finance Alhaji Samaila Aliyu Danmaraya represented by the Permanent Secretary of the Ministry,Alhaji Sabi’u Shu’aibu described revenue generation as the basis of development decrying the challenges suffered in the past which he said was not unconnected with lack of tenacity and seriousness.
