A man who allegedly duped 139 people in Australia has been arrested at the Murtala Mohammed International Airport, Lagos shortly on arrival from the United States.

The suspect, Osang Otukpa was picked up on December 6 by Operatives of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC.

The online fraudster allegedly duped 139 Australians of $8 million.

The EFCC’s Head of Media and Publicity, Dele Oyewale, said in a statement that “Otukpa, who goes by five aliases, namely: Ford Thompson, Oscar Donald Tyler, Michael Haye, Jose Vitto and Kristin Davidson scammed the victims by luring them on the social media to invest in his rogue cryptocurrency investment platform, Liquid Asset Group.

“The proceeds of the alleged crimes were routed to his bank accounts through a global cryptocurrency exchange platform.”

Oyewale said that the suspect would be charged to court after the completion of investigation.
