Marama community association hands over outpost to Borno Police Command
Marama Cmmunity Development Association in Hawul Local Government Area of Borno State has constructed a police outpost to enhance security in the area.
The structure was handed over to the Police Command in the state at a ceremony on Monday attended by Mr Inuwa Bwala and Mr Buba Mdahyelya, former chairman and vice chairman of the local government, and Mr Barka Iliyasu Yidawi, the councillor representing Marama-Kidang ward.
Yidavi, who is also the spokesperson of the association, said in a statement that the event was also attended by religious and community leaders, as well as the leadership of the association.
Bwala said, “We need peace among our people because when the community is at peace, the souce of livelihood of the community will increase.”
“From this strategic location, our law enforcement officers can now enjoy the working environment and can easily reach the neighboring villages when there are issues.”
The new police outpost has two detention cells – with separate sections for males and females – two restrooms, and two fully equipped offices.
“With two detention cells in this police station, I want to tell perpetrators of crime that there is no longer any possibility of not being held accountable for their actions,” Yidawi said in his speech.
The Divisional Police Officer of Marama appreciated the association for the donation, and pledged that police personnel deployed there will work tirelessly to ensure peace and stability in the area.
