Four airlines are expected to transport a total of 71, 274 Nigerians for the 2025 Hajj in Saudi Arabia.
The transportation of the pilgrims is expected to commence on May 5, 2025, according to the National Hajj Commission of Nigeria (NAHCON).
Figures released by the commission on Monday indicated that Max Air will airlift up to 23, 343 intending pilgrims from Oyo, Bauchi, Kwara, Gombe, Plateau, Kano, and Jigawa states, while another airline, Fly Nas, will transport 22, 893 intending pilgrims from the Federal Capital Territory, Sokoto, Kebbi, Zamfara, Lagos, Ogun, and Osun states.
One of Nigeria’s local airlines, Air Peace will evacuate 9,145 intending pilgrims from 16 states to Saudi Arabia for the annual Muslim pilgrimage. The states are Niger, Taraba, Benue, Kogi, Ekiti, Edo, Ondo, Delta, Bayelsa, Rivers, Akwa Ibom, Enugu, Cross River, Anambra, Abia, and Ebonyi .
The fourth airline, Umza Air Ltd will handle 15,893 intending pilgrims from Kaduna, Nasarawa, Adamawa, Borno, and Yobe states.
The Syndicate reports, however, that the figures and date for the commencement of the airlift may adjust depending on some variables.
