New UniAbuja VC pledges to lead with humility, transparency 

The new Vice-Chancellor of the University of Abuja, Prof. Aisha Sani Maikudi has pledged to to lead with humility, transparency, and steadfast dedication to excellence.

Maikudi, whose 5-year tenure begins today, made the pledge in her New Year message to the university community.

“My vision is for our University to flourish as a centre of academic excellence, groundbreaking research, digital transformation, and inclusivity.

“Achieving this vision requires the collective effort of our entire University community— staff, students, alumni, and other stakeholders. I firmly believe in the power of collaboration; our combined strengths can yield extraordinary results. I sincerely seek your unwavering support as we embark on this journey together.

“Let us heal divisions, strengthen partnerships, and cultivate an environment where everyone has the opportunity to contribute meaningfully to our shared goals,” she stated.

She assured students of the university that a more conducive environment will be created foster academic achievement and personal growth, and prepare them to be leaders and innovators.

“I encourage you to engage actively, and take full advantage of the opportunities that lie ahead.

In the coming months and years, I will prioritise fostering a culture of transparency, accountability, and shared purpose.

“This entails listening to your ideas, addressing your concerns, and working tirelessly to ensure that our institution remains a source of pride for all.

“Whether in teaching, research, administration, or service, your contributions are the bedrock of our collective success, and I deeply value the role each of you plays in shaping the University of Abuja.”

The Vice-Chancellor said going forward, every member of the university community should strive for excellence, be innovative, and foster an environment of mutual respect and inclusivity.
