Police Announce Strategic Posting of 25 AIGs
The Inspector-General of Police, Kayode Adeolu Egbetokun, has announced the immediate posting of 25 senior Police Officers to various commands and formations.
Those posted include seven Assistant Inspectors-General of Police (AIGs), and 18 Commissioners awaiting elevation to AIGs.
The comprehensive deployment of the senior officers was to reposition the force for effective performance, the Force Public Relations Officer ACP Mujiwa Adejobi said in a statement on Thursday.
The newly posted AIGs include AIG Margaret Ochalla, Force CID Annex, Lagos; AIG Abayomi Peter Oladipo, Zone 13, Ukpo; AIG Fred Ekokotu, Zone 11, Osogbo; AIG Iwo Nemi Edwin Osigboka, Border Patrol Force, Force Headquarters, Abuja; AIG Garba Ahmed, Department of Training and Development (DTD), Force Headquarters, Abuja; AIG Salman Dogo, Zone 5, Benin; and AIG Kanayo Uzuegbu, Zone 9, Umuahia.
The 18 acting AIGs posted to various strategic offices include CP Patrick Adedeji Atayero, as Commandant, Police Academy, Kano; CP Tolani Alausa, Zone 16, Yenagoa; CP Musibau Ajani, Zone 17, Akure; CP Mobolaji Victor Olaiya, AIG DICT, Force Headquarters, Abuja; CP Laolu Adegbite, Interpol, Force Headquarters, Abuja; CP Clement Robert, Community Policing, Research and Planning, Force Headquarters, Abuja; and CP Gyongon Augustine Grimah, Zone 10, Sokoto.
Others are CP Thomas Abraham Nabhon, ONSA; CP Musa Auwal Mohammed, Zone 3, Yola; CP Mohammed Shehu Dalijan, CTU, Force Headquarters, Abuja; CP Olatunji Disu, SPU, Force Headquarters, Abuja; CP Abubakar Sadiq Aliyu, Zone 12, Bauchi; CP Fasuba Akinyele, Investment, Force Headquarters, Abuja; CP Musa Kareem, Force Headquarters Annex, Lagos; CP Chukwudi Chris Ariekpere, FCID Annex, Enugu; CP Aliyu Abubakar Musa, Zone 14, Katsina; CP Godwin I. Eze, DFA, Force Headquarters, Abuja; and CP Abel J. Zwalchir Miri, Communications, Force Headquarters, Abuja.
The Inspector-General of Police charged them to embrace their new responsibilities with utmost dedication and justify the confidence reposed in them through exemplary service.
The IGP urged them to ensure strict supervision and diligence in the discharge of their lawful duties, and properly key into the ongoing police reform.
“These deployments are integral to the ongoing revitalization of the Nigeria Police Force,” the IGP said, and expressed confidence that the officers will contribute significantly to enhancing security across the country.
