CAN leads protests over Plateau killings

The Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN) on Monday led a protest in Jos over recent killings in two local government areas of Plateau State.

The protest, led by the state Chairman of CAN, Rev. Polycarp Lubo, commenced from Fawvwei Junction community road causing heavy gridlock and leaving commuters stranded.

Gunmen have killed over 100 people in Bokkos and Bassa LGAS in the past two weeks.

“We are not happy over the continuous attacks and killings by gunmen in our communities. That’s why we have come out again to protest these happenings,” said Gyang Dalyop, one of the protesters.

Another protester, Hannatu Philip, called on the government to intervene before it spirals out of control.

The protesters held placards with different inscriptions as they  marched to the Government House in  Rayfield area of Jos.
