The police command in Jigawa State, has recorded another significant operational success in its sustained efforts to combat theft, cattle rustling, fraud, vandalism, and other criminal activities across the state, with the arrest of 10 suspects during coordinated operations conducted in Taura, Malam Madori, Hadejia, Birniwa, Kirikasamma, and Kaugama Local Government Areas.

Adam said the operation which followed credible intelligence, prompt reports, and routine patrols, were carried out by police operatives in collaboration with a vigilante group in Nigeria.
“During the operations, two (2) motor vehicles, six (6) cows, a motorcycle, sheep, a handset, 3,100 fake dollars, electric cable wires, and money worth N1,100,000 were recovered.
“The suspects arrested include Muntari Ibrahim ‘m’ age 25yrs of Gidan Naruwa Settlement, Taura LGA; Bura Manu ‘m’ age 35yrs; Basiru Abubakar ‘m’ age 27yrs of Gashua, Bade LGA, Yobe State; Hussaini Umar ‘m’ age 24yrs of Potiskum LGA, Yobe State; Ismail Abdullahi alias Audun Balliya ‘m’ age 41yrs of Buraburun, Nguru LGA, Yobe State; Sadik Mahmud ‘m’ age 19yrs of Kaugama Township; Buhari Yusuf alias Manjo ‘m’ of Kaugama LGA; Usman Ahmad ‘m’ age 35yrs of Hadejia; Muhammed Abdu ‘m’ age 40yrs; and Muhammad Buba ‘m’ age 35yrs of Zagari village.
“The said Hussain Umar allegedly defrauded one individual of the sum of N2,661,000 with the pretense of providing USD and also sent a fake credit alert of N23,570,000 into his account,” he said.
Adam said that investigation was ongoing to apprehend other fleeing suspects.
“Meanwhile, investigation is ongoing to identify and apprehend other fleeing members of the various criminal groups. Hence, the suspects arrested will be charged in court upon the conclusion of investigations.
“The Commissioner of Police, Jigawa State Police Command, CP Tijjani Murtala,reiterated that the Command will continue to intensify intelligence-led policing, routine patrols, and coordinated operations aimed at dismantling criminal networks,” he said.
