Police Arrest 144 Suspects, Rescue 105 Kidnapped Victims In Katsina
Police have announced the arrest of 144 suspected kidnappers, armed robbers, rapists and those involved in culpable homicide in February across Katsina State.
The Commissioner of Police in the state, Aliyu Abubakar Musa, said through the command’s spokesman, DSP Abubakar Sadiq Aliyu, that four bandits were neutralised within the period, and 105 abducted persons rescued.
He added that 13 rustled animals, four locally made guns, 13 pump-action cartridges, and five motorcycles were recovered from the suspects.
The Commissioner said at a press conference in Katsina that among the suspects arrested, 18 were for culpable homicide, seven for armed robbery, one bandits informant, 49 rapists, and 47 for various crimes.
Musa commended the dedication and hard work of officers and men of the command, which was instrumental to the successes being recorded.
The Commissioner of Police appreciated the Inspector-General of Police, Kayode Adeolu Egbetokun, Katsina State Government, and the nedia for their support and collaboration in tackling security challenges in the state.
He emphasised the determination of the command to continue working closely with communities and all stakeholders to make the state more secure.
