Police confirm 3 suspected suicide bombings in Borno, say normalcy restored

The police command in Borno, has confirmed three suspected suicide bombings near the University of Maiduguri Teaching Hospital, the Monday Market, and the Post Office Flyover on Monday evening.
Police Public Relations Officer, Nahum Daso Kenneth, stated this in a statement issued on Monday in Maiduguri.
Kenneth said that the swift response of the police and other security agencies ensured that the situation was brought under control, saying that normalcy had been restored in the affected areas.
He added that clearance operations by the Explosive Ordnance Disposal (EOD) Unit of the police, were being carried out to ensure the safety of residents and prevent further threats in the affected areas.
He advised residents of Maiduguri to remain calm while maintaining vigilance and cooperating with security agencies.
He also urged members of the public to promptly report any suspicious activities to the nearest security formation.

“The police reiterate their commitment to safeguarding lives and property across the state,” he said.
