Radda Dismisses Vice Presidential Ambition Rumours

Katsina State Governor Malam Dikko Umaru Radda has openly dismissed rumours about his alleged vice presidential ambition, declaring that his singular focus remains serving the people of Katsina State.

“I’ve seen posters and messages suggesting I’m pursuing another office. Let me be clear: I sought your mandate to serve as Governor of Katsina State, and that is my only focus,” he declared.

“I am not behind any campaign to contest elsewhere. My duty is to fulfill the trust you’ve placed in me.”

The governor, who spoke in Dutsinma during the distribution of relief materials donated by Dutsinma Development Forum, shared out 600 bags of maize and ₦5,000 cash to victim of insecurity in the area.

He praised the Forum for organizing the compassion-driven initiative, saying it was a demonstration of “our shared values —caring for one another and standing together through tough times”.

Radda acknowledged Aminu Dan Arewa, the member representing Kurfi/Dutsinma federal constituency, who contributed ₦6 million to support additional victims.

“This is the kind of leadership Nigeria needs—one that leads with action, not just promises,” he added.

Reaffirming his administration’s commitment to peace, the governor said, “Security remains our topmost priority. We’re working tirelessly to restore lasting peace to Katsina.

“We will never make promises we can’t keep, and our decisions will continue to be guided by sincerity and the fear of God.”

Responding to community concerns, Governor Radda announced plans to extend water project from Dutsinma to Charanchi and nearby areas.

Dr. Sabi’u Liadi, Chairman of the Dutsinma Development Forum, praised the governor’s humility and responsiveness.

“Your presence here today speaks volumes. You chose to come in person, and that shows the kind of leader you are.”

Executive Chairman of Dutsinma Local Government, Kabir Abdussalam Shema, described Governor Radda as a compassionate and courageous leader.

“Without hesitation, we endorse Your Excellency for a second term. We believe in continuity because we have seen tangible results.”

While appreciating the second-term endorsement, Governor Radda said, “If it is the will of Allah and good for the people, it shall be—but if not, I pray for Allah to guide us to something even better.”
