Senator Donates Relief Materials to Communal Clash Victims In Jigawa

The Senator representing Jigawa southwest, Senator Mustapha Khabib, has donated relief materials to families of those who lost their lives in a communal clash in Miga local government area of the state.
The Syndicate reports that the clash involved three villages and had claimed 15 lives.
Each family of those killed was given five bags of rice, five bags of maize, five cartons of spaghetti, three gallons of cooking oil, five sachets each of seasonings and and salt,
The Senator also gave four bags to each of those injured and three bags to those whose houses were destroyed and other items.
The total foods items donated by the senator are 300 bags of rice, 300 bags of maize, 300 cartons of spaghetti, 300 five litres vegetable oil, 300 cartoons of Maggi and 300 Packets of salt.
Khabib, who presented the items to the affected families at Gidannagari village, cautioned against resort to arms over issues that could be settled through dialogue.
He said this would have saved the three villages from the trauma of the destructions of lives and properties that followed the clash.
“What happened was very unfortunate and avoidable. You all now know that peace is the bedrock of any development, there would not be development without peace. You should avoid any act that will disrupt the existing peace among you.
“You are all living witnesses of the tension, loss of lives and properties on an issue that can be prevented and avoided.
“These food items are just to ease your pains, nothing compares with human lives,” the Senator said.
