Terrorists Attack School, kill Three, Injure One In  Yobe

Terrorists suspected to be members of Boko haram have killed three people and injured one at an Islamiyya school in Geidam, Yobe state.

Spokesman of the Yobe State Police Command, DSP Dungus Abdulkarim confirmed the incident to our reporter.

He said that the attackers arrived at Fudiyya Islamiyya School on motorcycles, armed with AK47 rifles around 4.00 am on shooting sporadically.

“Yes, there was an attack on Faudiya Islamic School in Geidam the headquarters of Geidam local government area. The school belongs to the Islamic Movement of Nigeria.”

“When Police received the distress call and rushed to the school, they discovered a total number of 3 students killed, while one was injured and is currently receiving medical treatment at Geidam Specialists Hospital,” he said.

Those killed were Muhammadu Saleh, 22, Ahmed Abdulrahman, 21, and Abdullahi Adamu, 21, while Sani Haruna, 25, who was injured is receiving medical attention.

Geidam is located 183 kilometres from Damaturu the state capital and borders Niger Republic.

It was one of the epicenters of Boko Haram insurgency between 2012 and 2016.

Geidam is the hometown of the immediate past Inspector General of Police, IGP Alkali Baba, and the current Minister of Police Affairs, Ibrahim Geidam.
