Troops Arrest Woman Conveying Ammunition To Turji
Troops of 1 Brigade, Sector 2 Operation Fansan Yamma have apprehended 25-year-old Shamsiyya Ahadu in possession of 764 rounds of 7.62mm special ammunition and six magazines meant to be delivered to terrorist kingpin Bello Turji’s camp.
She was arrested on December 28 alongside a motorcycle rider, Ahmed Husaini, in Badarawa area of Shinkafi Local Government Area of Zamfara State.
This was contained in a statement issued by Lieutenant Colonel Abubakar Abdullahi, Coordinator Joint Media Coordinating Centre, Operation Fansan Yamma.
“The arrest followed an intelligence report regarding the movement of the terrorists logistics along the road from Kware to Badarawa in the Shinkafi Local Government Area of Zamfara State.
“In response to the development, troops of Operation Fansan Yamma prompty established a roadblock leading to the apprehension of the suspects. Both suspects are currently undergoing investigation by appropriate authorities,” he added.
Abdullahi said that the troops will remain dedicated to dismantling all terrorist networks and preventing illegal movement of arms and ammunition within its area of operation.
He appreciated the support the troops were enjoying from members of the public and urged them not to relent in providing credible information that would lead to the arrest of all terrorists and their collaborators.
