Villagers Hail Gov. Buni For Access Roads, Improved Standard Of Living

Some communities in Yobe State have expressed happiness and commended Governor Mai Mala Buni for the construction of access roads which opened their areas and enhance social and economic activities.
The communities made the comments in separate interviews during an inspection tour of government projects by members of the state Council of the Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ), on Tuesday.
Malam Kakdu Kafayo, a resident of Tagali in Bade Local Government Area said the 10km Chumbusko – Tagali road constructed by the government has made life easier for them.
“Before the provision of the road, we could hardly transport our farm produce to various markets within and outside the state.
“Now we are happy to be connected to other parts of the state,” he said.
Also, Malam Sama’ila Tagali, a motorist, commended the governor and appealed for the construction of a modern market and storage facilities in the community to enable traders preserve and store their farm produce.
In his comment, the Village Head of Chukuriwa, Alhaji Muhammadu Chukuriwa, said the construction of the 16.5km Dawasa-Chukuriwa-Kukuri road has enhanced economic and social activities and linked several villages along the route with Potiskum.
He also commended the governor and the Commissioner for Works, Alhaji Umar Wakil Duddaye for the construction of a Jumaat Mosque in Chukuriwa.
Similarly, Malam Ishaku Ado, the Masaya of Kukuri, expressed appreciation for the project, saying people of the three communities will remain grateful to the government, and the Commissioner of Works, who facilitated the project.
“It has taken some decades before it’s actualisation, that is why it is very historic and a legacy to be left behind by this administration.
“The road has linked about about five wards and three local government areas of Fika, Gujba and Gulani,” he said.
In his remarks, the NUJ Chairman, Rajab Muhammed Ismail, said the tour was to get first hand information on the projects executed by the administration of Governor Buni.
He said that so far, the administration has done a marvellous job, and commended the governor for the outstanding performance worthy of emulation by other governors.
