Telcos tariff hike: FG, Labour set up 10-man review committee
The Federal Government and Organised Labour have set up a 10-man committee to review the tariff hike on telecom services.
Both sides agreed to the suspension of the protest by labour over the hike pending the outcome of the committees recommendation within two weeks.
This was announced by the Minister of Information, Mohammed Idris after the meeting on Monday between federal officials and leaders of ororganised bour.
The Federal Government delegation was led by the Secretary to the Government of the Federation, George Akume while Labour was led by NLC President, Joe Ajaero.
As part of the agreements reached, the 10-member committee will consist of five members from each side.
It is to review the tariff hike report and propose solutions that address the concerns of telecom operators and consumers.
