Yobe govt pledges more support for religious activities

The Yobe State Commissioner of Transport and Energy, Mohammad Mohammed Bara says the state government will continue to support religious activities to promote unity and mutual understanding among the people of the state.
This is contained in a statement issued by the Commissioner’s Media Aide, Idris Suleiman Kachallah.
The commissioner who spoke during the state preaching event organised by the Jama’ati Izalatil Bidi’a Wa Iqamati Sunnah (JIBWIS), urged people of the state to unite in promoting community development.
The statewide preaching event by JIBWIS was held in Bara, Gujba Local Government Area, and brought together Islamic scholars from across the 17 local chapters of the sect.
Mohammed, who was a former religious affairs commissioner, said that the administration of Governor Mai Mala Buni will always support religious activities which bring people together for unity and shared purpose.
He applauded JIBWIS’s commitment to fostering spiritual growth and moral development among the citizens of the state.
The commissioner noted that the event featured inspiring sermons, discussions on religious teachings, and opportunities for community engagement, during which the attendees participated in prayers and reflections led by esteemed Muslim.
“The atmosphere was one of reverence and camaraderie, reinforcing the values of peace, harmony, and brotherhood that JIBWIS stands for,” Mohammed said.
The event concluded with a call for continued collaboration among local chapters, and urging government to promote peace, education, citizens welfare and social justice.
