Yobe Undergoing Steady Transformation After Years of Boko Haram Insurgency  –  Gov. Buni

By Muhammad Maitela, Damaturu

The Yobe State Governor, Mai Mala Buni has declared that the state, once among the worst-hit by Boko Haram, has achieved “relative peace” and is undergoing a steady transformation, restoring hope to its people.

Speaking to journalists on Wednesday in Damaturu, the Governor stated that the area where they stood was formerly under terrorist control.

He credited the state’s recovery to a comprehensive, multi-sectoral strategy implemented after more than a decade of insurgency.

“The recovery must be approached through a comprehensive, multisectoral strategy.

“This is why we have given attention to all sectors of development,” the Governor explained, following the media tour in the state.

He expressed gratitude for the media tour, which allowed the journalists to witness firsthand the peace and “modest achievements” on the ground.

The Governor emphasized that the administration is focused on “ensuring value for money in all our interventions” while steadily upgrading communities.

“Today, however, you can see the transformation—peace has returned, and we are steadily upgrading and developing our communities, restoring hope to our people,” he concluded.
