Katsina Govt, Labour Sign Agreement On N70,000 Minimum Wage 

The Katsina State Government and the State Joint Public Service Negotiation Council have signed an agreement for the implementation of N70,000 rminimum wage with effect from December.

The agreement was signed in Katsina on Friday by the Secretary to the State Government, Abdullahi Faskari, and Head of Service, Falalu Bawale, on behalf of the government.

On the part of organised labour, it was signed by the state NLC chairman, Hussaini Hamisu, and that of Association of Senior Civil Servants, Muntari Abdu Ruma.

The new salary will be paid to state, local government and local education authority workers.

Both side agreed that the implementation of the new minimum wage and consequential salary adjustments for all categories of workers will be effective from December 2024.

They jointly made a commitment to foster a culture of hard work, honesty, and productivity among workers at all levels of government.

The labour leaders pledged to ensure that workers uphold the principles of dedication and integrity in carrying out their responsibilities.
