Borno State Governor, Babagana Umara Zulum, has distributed N150 million cash to 15,000 women in Mafa local government area of the state.
The governor also shared bags of maize to 10,000 households, which was donated to the state by the federal government to cushion the hard economic hardship in the country. The 10,000 households received a bag of maize each.
Zulum said while distributing the items on Tuesday in Mafa that similar gesture was extended to residents of Gwoza and Nganzai.
“This food item constitutes the last batch of those donated by the federal government to the state. You can remember that we shared similar food item in Gwoza and Nganzai a few months ago,” Zulum said.
On the money and wrappers shared to 15,000 women, Zulum said each of them would receive N10,000 cash and a wrapper.
“Each female head of household will receive a wrapper and a sum of N10,000 through our Microfinance Banks,” the governor added.
