Jigawa Govt opens tender for construction of new Dutse Emir Palace

The Jigawa State Government has opened the tender for the construction of the new Emir’s Palace Dutse, reinforcing its commitment to traditional institutions and their crucial role in promoting peace and stability in the state.

Declaring the bid open, the Chairman tender ministerial committee who is also the Permanent Secretary, Administration and Finance, Office of the Secretary to the State Government, Alhaji Abdullahi Sa’idu, emphasized the significance of the project. He stated that Governor Umar Namadi has shown deep concern and interest in the palace’s construction, which is poised to reflect the rich cultural heritage of the Emirate. He added that renovation for the Hadejia Emir’s Palace is currently in progress and will set the stage for the timely commencement of the new Dutse Emir’s Palace project.

The Permanent Secretary underscored the importance of adhering to the stipulated timelines in the contractual agreements, urging the technical committee to expedite the evaluation process. He reiterated that timely project completion is vital for enhancing the state’s infrastructure and traditional governance.

The Director General, Due Process and Project Monitoring Bureau, Professor Kasim Muhammad, reassured all bidders of a transparent selection process. He emphasized the government’s commitment to maintaining high standards and ensuring that the project meets quality expectations.

Represented by Abbas Abubakar Umar, the Director General, urged contractors to ensure the execution of quality project. He warned that any substandard work would not be tolerated, emphasizing the government’s determination to uphold excellence in public infrastructure.

On behalf of the contractors, Alhaji Buhari Abubakar expressed gratitude to the Office of the Secretary to the State Government, for facilitating the bid opening. He assured that all companies would strive for excellence and integrity in their work.

Civil society organizations and other stakeholders were present at the bid opening, reflecting a collective interest in the project’s success and accountability.
