Jigawa opens tender for 2026 constituency projects

The Jigawa State Government has announced the opening of tenders for the construction, renovation, and completion of District/Village Heads, as well as Friday and daily prayer mosques across 30 state constituencies.
Declaring the bid opening, the Chairman, Ministerial Tender Committee and Permanent Secretary Directorate of Administration and Finance, Office of the Secretary to the Government of Jigawa State, Alhaji Abdullahi Sa’idu, emphasized that tender is for the 2026 constituency projects.
“In addition to mosque construction, the projects will also include the installation of solar street lights, interlocking, and construction of wall fencing for graveyards, among other initiatives,” the Permanent Secretary said.
He urged the technical committee to ensure a fair and impartial selection process.
Alhaji Abdullahi Sa’idu stressed the importance of timely project completion in line with contractual agreements.
He highlighted that the projects align with the 12-point agenda of Governor Malam Umar A. Namadi, aimed at improving the lives of Jigawa State citizens.
He also announced that over 40 companies are competing for the contracts, reaffirming the commitment to a fair selection process.
In his remarks, the Director General, Due Process and Project Monitoring Bureau, Professor Kasim Muhammad, assured that the contractors selection process would be transparent and equitable, urging the technical committee to comply with the Procurement Act and Due Process laws.
Represented by Quantity Surveyor Kabiru Kiyawa, he emphasized the need for the procurement unit to ensure that every contractor embarking on the project should have a detailed drawings containing all specifications for their projects.
On behalf of the bidders, Mallam Shu’aibu Adamu, representative of Gida Adede Nigeria Limited, expressed satisfaction with the bid opening process.
