Kano Pilgrims Welfare Board fixes N8m as deposit for 2027 Hajj

The Kano State Pilgrims Welfare Board has fixed N8 million as initial deposit for intending pilgrims from the state for the 2027 Holy Pilgrimage in Saudi Arabia.
The Director-General of the Board, Alhaji Abubakar Ibrahim Matawalle, said this during a press briefing held at the Board’s Conference Hall in Kano.
Matawalle said that the board had already commenced registration for the Holy Pilgrimage, saying that the exercise would last until September 26.
He said the decision followed extensive consultations and careful planning aimed at ensuring early preparations and effective coordination for the 2027 Hajj exercise.
According to him, the sale of Hajj seats and the payment process commences on Sunday, July 12, 2026, and will run until September 26, 2026.
Matawalle urged all intending pilgrims to complete their registration and payment within the stipulated period to avoid last-minute rush and to enable the board to make adequate arrangements for a smooth pilgrimage.
The Director-General said that all payments should be made through bank drafts, which should be submitted to Local Government Hajj Centre officers the State.
He also advised intending pilgrims to adhere strictly to the official procedures approved by the State Government and avoid dealing with unauthorised persons or agents.
Matawalle reaffirmed the board’s commitment to providing efficient, transparent and quality services to ensure that intending pilgrims from the State perform the 2027 Hajj in comfort, safety and dignity.
He expressed appreciation to Gov.Abba Yusuf for his continued support and commitment to the welfare of pilgrims.
Matawalle lauded religious leaders, stakeholders and the people of the State for their cooperation and confidence on the board.
He prayed that Allah to accept the intentions of all intending pilgrims, grant them the opportunity to perform an accepted Hajj, and return them safely to their families.
