2 Notorius Bandits Surrender In Katsina

Two notorious bandits terrorising Batsari and Safana Local Government Areas in Katsina State have given up some of  their weapons and released 15 hostages in a tentative move to surrender to the authorities.

The notorious bandits, Abu Radde and Umar Black, handed over the weapons and their captives to security agencies in Batsari.

Troops of Operation Fansan Yamma and othave been mounting intensive military operations to tame the activities of bandits in the area.

“This move marks a significant step towards ending banditry and criminality in the region,” the Nigerian Army indicated.

The surrender of four AK47 rifles and 15 captives was witnessed by residents, the military and other stakeholders.

“This surrender was not a negotiation or peace meeting, but rather a crucial step towards the bandits’ complete disarmament and release of all kidnapped victims,” a military source said.

The arms were handed over to the 17 Brigade of the Nigerian Army, while the kidnapped victims were relased to local council officials for rehabilitation.
