‘Groom’ Dies In Accident 30 Minutes To Wedding
A husband-to-be, Abba Musa, has died in an accident barely 30 minutes to his wedding.
Abba died alongside Maryam Suleiman, the elder sister of his would-be wife while travelling to the venue of the wedding fatiha.
The accident occurred in Boto, Tafawa Balewa local government area of Bauchi State.
A brother of the groom, Saminu Boto, who confirmed the incident, said that the victims left Murno village for Boto, about 5 kilometers away, when the accident occurred and both died at the weekend.
The would-be wife, Raihanatu Suleiman is still in shock, the brother said on Tuesday.
“It’s an unimaginable loss. The entire community is mourning. The families of the victims are in deep shock, with relatives and friends struggling to come to terms with the sudden loss.”
Boto described the deceased as a kind-hearted and ambitious young man who had looked forward to building a life with his bride, Raihanatu Suleiman.
He said Maryam Suleiman was very supportive of her sibling and had played a key role in planning the ceremony.
“The dual tragedy has cast a shadow over the community, with many residents calling it one of the saddest days in recent memory,” Boto said.
Abba and Maryam were buried in accordance with Islamic tenets shortly after the accident.
