Labour Party’s presidential candidate in the 2023 elections, Mr Peter Obi says President Bola Tinubu should address the nation in order to douse rising tension following ongoing protest against bad governance and hunger in the country.
Obi, speaking at his residence in Onitsha in Anambra State, said the President should directly engage with the public and address their legitimate concerns.
“My appeal is for the President to come out and address the nation. He is the one elected by the people and holds their mandate. At such critical times, he should not rely on aides or appointees to communicate with the public,” he added.
Obi offered condolences to the families of those who lost their lives during the protest, and sympathised with those injured or lost their properties.
