Buni Applauds Army For Decimating Insurgents, Restoring Peace In Yobe

Yobe State Governor Mai Mala Buni has applauded the military for their efforts in decimating insurgents and restoring peace in the state.
The governor gave the commendation in a message to troops in Buni Yadi, who were treated to a luncheon, organised by Sector 2, Operation Hadin Kai.
Buni, represented by the Commissioner for Wealth Creation, Empowerment and Employment Generation, Alhaji Aji Yerima Bularafa, said the war on insurgency has recorded tremendous successes.
“Yobe state is now one of the most peaceful in the Northeast of Nigeria.
“The state government will continue to support the Nigerian Army and other security agencies within the limit of its resources.
“Principally, the state government has provided support in the form of medical services and consumables, vehicles, and equipment maintenance as well as other forms of logistics and operational support to the forces deployed to the state.”
The governor, however, said the must keep vigil along the state’s border with Borno.
“I also take this opportunity to draw the attention of the military to intensify surveillance and clearance operations in Yunusari, Geidam, Gujba and other Local Government Areas bordering Borno state to check possible surprises by the insurgents,” he added.
In his remarks, the Commander, Sector 2 Joint Task Force North-East Operation Hadin Kai, Major General MCE Ejike, said the Christmas lunch was an avenue for officers and men in the frontline to come together for merriment and enhance comradeship.
He revealed that the laudable gesture which emanated from the sterling leadership qualities of the Chief of Army Staff (COAS) is also aimed at motivating the troops as well as enhancing comradeship among personnel.
He appreciated the COAS for supporting the event, and for his unwavering commitment to enhancing professionalism and regimentation in the Nigerian Army.
He assured that the troops will remain combat ready and work as a team during joint and multi agency operations.
