Defections to APC betrayal of people’s trust — Jigawa PDP Chairman

The Chairman of the People Democratic Party (PDP) in Jigawa state, Alhaji Ali Idris Diginsa, has described the recent defections of some elected public office holders to the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) as a betrayal of people’s trust.
Speaking to The Syndicate in Dutse on Thursday, Diginsa said those who defected did so for selfish reasons, not in the interest of the people contending with hunger, hopelessness and dejection due to the bad policies of the APC led administration.
“Their actions are purely selfish, and they are power mongers. They have only disgraced themselves in the eyes of the world.
“PDP would remain firm and strong, it would not panic or shake as it’s still the most acceptable to Nigeriens. As they left, millions of others are joining our party, people who are genuinely desirous of changing the hopeless situation the APC government has plunged the country.”
Diginsa chided Delta State Governor Sheriff Oborevbwori and the PDP Vice Presidential candidate in the 2023 elections, Ifeanyi Okowa, saying wherever they run to, the PDP made them what they are today.
“The PDP favoured them and made them governors and vice presidential candidate despite serious protest by high level members.
“They were voted by the people and made them what they were. The people who voted for them are still around and carefully watching, waiting to pay back.
“The people of Delta State who gave them the mandate remain members and supporters of PDP; both of them would learn their bitter lesson and get the outcome of their betrayal.”
Diginsa said some politicians don’t learn lessons, reminding them of the 2015 scenario when the opposition party defeated the incumbent president.
“Power belongs to God. There is nothing difficult for Him to repeat the same, that is to take power from President Tinubu and APC candidates, and give to PDP in 2027,” the PDP Jigawa state chairman
