GOV NAMADI SWEARS IN ACTING GRAND KADI, CHARGES HIM ON DEDICATION AND FAIRNESS
Gov. Umar Namadi of Jigawa State, has sworn in Kadi Umar Nasir Ahmad as the Acting Grand Kadi of the State Sharia Court of Appeal.
The swearing-in ceremony, held at the Council Chamber of the Government House in Dutse, on Thursday.
In his remarks shortly after the ceremony, Namadi congratulated the new Acting Grand Kadi on his appointment and charged him to uphold the highest standards of judicial integrity. He emphasized the need for the Acting Grand Kadi to remain dedicated to his duties and to discharge his responsibilities without fear or favour, in strict accordance with the teachings of Islam.
The Governor said that the appointment in acting capacity is a call to serve, and urged the appointee to discharge his official duties with the fear of Allah. The Governor drawn his attention that to ensure justice is not only done but seen to be done, without any bias or external influence.
In his remarks to newsmen shortly after the swearing, the newly sworn-in Acting Grand Kadi, Hon. Kadi Umar Nasir Ahmad, expressed his gratitude to the Governor and the people of Jigawa State for the confidence reposed in him. He pledged his total commitment to serving the state and upholding the tenets of Sharia law with fairness and the fear of God.
The ceremony was attended by the State Chief Judge/Chairman Judicial Service Commission Hon. Justice Umar M. Sadiq, Hon. High Court Judges, Kadis, Members of the State Judicial Service Commission, Chief Registrar’s High Court and Shari’a Court of Appeal, Secretary JSC, Magistrates, Shari’a Alkalis, top government officials, members of the State Executive Council, and other dignitaries.
