Gov Yusuf allocates land for NWDC headquarters in Kano 
Gov. Abba Yusuf of Kano State, has lauded President Bola Tinubu for establishing the NorthWest Development Commission, praising the decision to locate the commission’s headquarters in Kano without considering political affiliations.
Yusuf said this when he received members of the Commission, led by its chairman, Mr Isma’il Yakawada on a courtesy visit at the Government House, Kano on Thursday.
The Governor reassured of supporting the commission’s goals, acknowledging the timely establishment of the NWDC in addressing the region’s challenges.
He also gave a letter of grant for the construction of the parmenent site for the commission in Kano.
”We’ve already provided a befitting Land which will serve for building the office accommodations of the this noble commission,” he said.
Yusuf said that the Northwest was faced with significant challenges, including insecurity, kidnapping, banditry, and other criminal activities.
“The NWDC’s establishment is expected to help alleviate these issues, promoting economic growth, social cohesion, and improved living standards,” he said.
He urged the commission to work toward the realization of the expectations of the general populace of the region.
Earlier,Yakawada had sought the Kano State government’s support and collaboration with a view to achieve its stated objectives.
He said the NWDC aimed at ensuring the betterment and development of the region with a focus on addressing pressing challenges such as insecurity, hunger, poverty, and malnutrition.
He solicited for the needed support and collaboration of the government with a view to achieving the task ahead.
