Jigawa PDP Gets New Leaders

The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has elected new leaders to superintendent over the affairs of the party in Jigawa State.
The new leaders emerged during the party’s state congress held at the Aminu Kano Triangle in Dutse, the state capital.
The 39 state executive members were endorsed by the over 9,400 delegates from 287 political wards of the 27 local government areas of the state.
The Syndicate reports that the congress was overseen by a five-member committee from the PDP National Headquarters led by Mr Isa Ahmad.
All the new executive members emerged unopposed and will steer the affairs of the party for the next four years.
According to Ahmad, the congress was transparent, peaceful in full compliance with the PDP constitution.
He thanked the local organising committee, party leaders, and members for demonstrating patriotism and commitment to the party’s future.
Hon. Dr. Babandi Ibrahim Gumel is the PDP Chairman in Jigawa state with Hon. Umar Danjani as deputy chairman, and Muhammad Bahutu as the state secretary.
Other state officials include: Saleh Yahaya KO, Vice Chairman, Jigawa Northeast Zone; Hon. Uba Bawan Allah, Northwest Zone; and Hon. Idris Danlawan, Central Zone, while Hajiya Murja Garki emerged as State Women Leader, among others.
In his inaugural speech, the state PDP chairman thanked party leaders and members for entrusting the affairs of the party to them.
He pledged to collaborate with all stakeholders to foster an inclusive administration where member’s rights and opinions are respected in line with the party’s constitution.
“We will work together to reposition the PDP, the party Nigerians trust as the only platform capable of rescuing them from the current socioeconomic crises, insecurity, poverty, and hunger plaguing the nation daily,” Babandi declared.
Earlier, the party leader and former Jigawa State governor, Alhaji Sule Lamido, expressed satisfaction with the exercise, it was free, fair, and transparent.
He described the congress as a milestone in the party’s struggle to liberate Nigeria from self-centered leaders whose poor governance has caused untold hardship for citizens.
Lamido expressed optimism that the PDP would emerge stronger ahead of the 2027 elections, offering new hope and chance for Nigerians to have rightful leaders .
