JNI Scribe lauds DSS boss’s efforts to promote inter-faith harmony 

The Jama’atu Nasril Islam (JNI) has commended the efforts of the Director General of State Services, Oluwatosin Adeola Ajayi to promote interfaith harmony in the country.

The JNI Secretary General, Prof. Khalid Aliyu Abubakar who gave the commendation, said Ajayi’s initiative to unite Muslims and Christians was historic.

He noted that the breaking of fast organised for religious groups and the less privileged by the DSS boss would strengthen understanding and tolerance among various people in the country.

“Despite being the son of a Christian cleruc, Ajayi has demonstrated exceptional commitment to religious tolerance,” Abubakar added, and prayed God to guide him the more in addressing Nigeria’s security challenges.

The JNI scribe noted the presence of the less privileged during the  feast, saying, it is commendable and should be emulated.

The event, held on March 1, 2025, brought together both Muslim and Christian leaders, alongside less privileged individuals and those with special needs in the Federal Capital Territory.

The event was attended by notable Islamic leaders, including Bar. Harun Muhammad Eze, Imam of the National Mosque; Prof Kabir, another Imam of National Mosque, Sheikh Dr. Tajuddeen Adigun, Chairman of the FCT Imams Committee; Imam Fuad of Al-Habibiyyah Mosque; and Dr. Bashir Abdullahi Ismail, Imam of FOMWAN.

Also in attendance were Rev’d Fr. Peter Babangida Audu, Fr. Michael Banjo, and Fr. Boniface idoko, all of Catholic Secretariat of Nigeria, and Revd. Saboyaro Adams, Revd. Canon smart S.Simon, Apostle  Beneni Iyaye, Rev. Nicodemus Izuduchukwu, Ogbonife Nnamdi, and the  FCT CAN chairman Rev. Timothy Amakom.
