Kano State Internal Revenue Service unveils new mission, vision
The Kano State Internal Revenue Service (KIRS), has unveiled a new vision toward building the most referenced sub-national Revenue Authority in Africa.
The Executive Chairman, KIRS, Dr Zaid Abubakar, said this on Monday at a training workshop organized for the staff and unveiling of the new vision, mission and core values of the service.
Abubakar called on the staff of the service to discharge their duties with high sense of responsibility, integrity and transparency.
The KIRS Boss said the call was necessary in order to change the narratives to enable the agency to generate more revenue for the state.
“The new vision of the service is to build the world most referenced sub-national Revenue Authority in African continent while the new mission of the service is deliver value-added taxpayer services through a sustainable and efficient tax systems while optimising revenue collection,” he said.
Abubakar said the five new core values of the service included professionalism, integrity, excellent service, efficiency and collective responsibility.
“We have to change the mind set of our people, we have to add value to whatever we doing and above all we must take the activities of the service as our personal project,” he said.
Abubakar said with the unveiling of the new vision, mission and core values, the service was committed to promoting integrity, transparency and accountability in all its activities.
He said the service would continue to take accord priority to welfare of staff members as part of measures to boost their morale for effective performance.
On the training, the KIRS chairman said the training was designed to improve the skills of the staff of the Service on tax payers data collection and management for effective service delivery.
