NUJ JIGAWA HAILS EMIR OF DUTSE’S APPOINTMENT AS CHANCELLOR, SOKOTO STATE UNIVERSITY

The Jigawa Council of the Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ), has congratulated the Emir of Dutse and Patron of the Union, His Royal Highness Alhaji (Dr.) Muhammad Hamim Nuhu Muhammad Sanusi, on his investiture as the Chancellor, Sokoto State University, describing the appointment as a fitting recognition of his distinguished leadership and enduring contributions to education and national development.

The commendation was contained in a statement jointly signed by the NUJ State Chairman, Comrade Isma’il Ibrahim Dutse, and the Acting Secretary, Comrade Aminu Umar Shuwajo.

According to Shuwajo, the Council expressed confidence that the Emir’s wealth of experience, visionary leadership, and unwavering commitment to public service would add significant value to the university’s academic excellence, institutional growth, and strategic development.

He also recalled the longstanding relationship between the Dutse Emirate and Sokoto State University, noting that the late Emir of Dutse, Alhaji (Dr.) Nuhu Muhammad Sanusi, was the institution’s pioneer Chancellor, having been appointed by former Sokoto State Governor, Senator Aliyu Magatakarda Wamakko. His tenure was later renewed by former Governor Rt. Hon. Aminu Waziri Tambuwal in recognition of his exceptional service and dedication to the university.

The Council expressed optimism that the appointment of the current Emir would further consolidate the University’s academic and administrative advancement through purposeful leadership, fresh ideas, and a sustained commitment to excellence.

The NUJ, Jigawa State Council, concluded by praying to Almighty Allah to grant His Royal Highness wisdom, sound health, and divine guidance as he assumes the responsibilities of his new office.
