Jigawa PDP LG Congresses Peaceful, Successful – Official

The Peoples Democrats Party (PDP) local government congresses in Jigawa State has been conducted peacefully in line with democratic tenets, the Chairman of the congress committee, Alhaji Sheriff Abdullahi, has said.
The Syndicate reports that the congresses were to elect leaders of the party in all the 27 local government areas of the state.
Abdullahi said at the results collation centre in Dutse on Sunday that there was “high level of democracy demonstrated in the process and conduct of the congresses”.
“In all the places I and my committee members visited, the whole exercise was conducted peacefully in accordance with the party’s constitutional provisions and guidelines.
“The turnout of the party members is great and convincing. It shows that the party is on the ground, and in the minds of Jigawa people and Nigerians,” Abdullahi said.
He commended the PDP leader in the state, Alhaji Sule Lamido, the local organising committee, executive council members and all members of the party for their hard work and love of the party.
In a remark, Lamido expressed satisfaction with the process and conduct of the party’s local congresses, describing it as one of the best ever held in the state.
The party leader urged members of the party to be patient and ignore the theatrics of the ruling All Progressives Congress.
“The present PDP is not for a person in a hurry, the present PDP is for the patient and durable persons, it’s present movement is not for greedy people. So those advocating for coalition to defeat APC and Tinubu, perceive it wrong.
“I said and I repeat that PDP will remains strong with all it’s governors, BOT members. Don’t panic because of the defections of some members. They are trying to cover their dirty acts for fear of EFCC,” Lamido added.
He, therefore, urged the party members to remain strong and committed towards building the party and wresting power from the ruling APC to save the county from present bad governance.
Also, the state PDP gubernatorial candidate in 2023, Alhaji Mustapha Sule Lamido commended the electoral committee sent from the national headquarter for their handling of the congresses.
He told all party members to be ready to work hard in unity, assuring that PDP will be victorious in the 2027 elections.
