Perm Sec, 5 Others Nabbed Over N136m Fraud In Katsina
A Permanent Secretary in Katsina State, Alhaji Muheeb Ibrahim Bamidele and five others have been arrested by the state anti-graft agency over alleged diversion of N136 million from government coffers.
The principal suspect is the current Permanent Secretary, Local Government Service Commission. He was the Permanent Secretary Department of Banking and Finance before his deployment to the commission in September 2024.
The six suspects are being investigated for allegedly embezzling N136,126,970.
Their arrest was confirmed in a statement issued on Monday by Dr. Jamilu Abdulsalam, Executive Secretary of the state Public Complaints and Anti-Corruption Commission.
He explained that the commission is investigating the matter and will give further details as the investigation progresses.
