Police Arrest 12 For Attacking Mosque, Killing Worshipper In Kaduna
Police have arrested 12 members of a strret gang who attacked worshippers and stabbed a man to death inside a mosque in Kaduna, Nigeria.
The attack occurred on Friday morning at about 2a.m while Muslims were observing the Tahajjud prayer at a mosque in Layin Bilya, Rigasa area of Kaduna.
The Spokesperson of Kaduna State Police Command, Mansir Hassan, said that the gang members stabbed a 28-year-old worshipper to death as others managed to flee the scene.
Hassan revealed that the attackers came from Malalin Gabas, Tudun Wada, Rafin Guza, and Badiko areas of Kaduna, adding that by the time police personnel and members of the Civilian Joint Task Force arrived, the victim, Usman Mohammed, had been fatally wounded.
Several weapons were recovered from them, and a thorough investigation launched to uncover further details of the incident and ensure justice.
To prevent such incident, the Command has enhanced security around mosques and other key locations, and enjoin the public to remain vigilant and report any suspicious activities.
