Police arrest 17 suspects for robbery, other crimes in Jigawa State

The police command in Jigawa State has arrested 17 suspects for robbery and crimes in the state.
This is contained in a statement signed by SP Shiisu Lawan Adam, the state Police Public Relations Officer on Saturday in Dutse.
“The Jigawa State Police Command has recorded another operational success in its efforts to combat theft, shopbreaking, cattle rustling, vandalism, armed robbery, and other criminal activities across the state, with the arrest of seventeen (17) suspects during separate operations in Malam Madori, Gwaram, Garki, Kiyawa, Taura, Birniwa, Dutse, Ringim, Miga, Kazaure, and Roni Local Government Areas.
“The operations followed credible intelligence, prompt response, and effective police investigations. The interventions led to the arrest of suspects and recovery of stolen property and exhibits,” Adam said.
He stated that items recovered from the suspects included two motorcycles and five heads of cows.
“The recovered exhibits include two boxers/Bajaj/Hajoue and rubber-rubber motorcycles, five (5) cows, two (2) stolen goats, one (1) sheep, nine (9) Android smartphones, a keypad, forty-four (44) batteries, four (4) different SIM cards, a Lenovo laptop, a TV set, a solar battery, a ceiling fan, parts of vandalized school desks, cutting pliers, a ring spanner, and two pairs of shoes were also recovered.
“In a separate armed robbery case, three (3) suspects were arrested in connection with the robbery of a Boxer motorcycle valued at ₦1.2 million, which is yet to be recovered.
“The suspects arrested include Usman Sale ‘m’ age 30yrs of Agufa village, Miga LGA; Abubakar Aminu ‘m’ age 18yrs of Katutu Qtrs; Musa Sale ‘m’ age 22yrs of Tsigi Qtrs; and Abubakar Bashir ‘m’ age 22yrs of Tsigi Qtrs, all of Ringim LGA; Ya’u Yahaya ‘m’ age 29yrs of Kofar Fada, Kafin Hausa LGA; Shaibu Muhd ‘m’ age 28yrs of Gajirma village, Birniwa LGA; Anas Uba ‘m’ age 32yrs of Andaza town, Kiyawa LGA; Gali Ibrahim ‘m’ 25yrs of Bagara Qtrs; Shafi’u Ilyasu ‘m’ age 23yrs of Bagara Qtrs, Kazaure LGA; and Haruna Alhaji ‘m’ age 30yrs of Dagana camp, Guri LGA; Musa Haruna ‘m’ age 20yrs; Basiru Datti ‘m’ age 30yrs; Abdullahi Bello ‘m’ age 23yrs; Usman Adamu ‘m’ age 30yrs; Adamu Sani ‘m’ age 25yrs; Umar Wada ‘m’ age 30yrs, of Ningi LGA, Bauchi State; and Salisu Nasiru ‘m’ age 17yrs of Kantsauni.
“Meanwhile, an investigation is ongoing to trace the owners of the recovered property and hand it over on bond and also recover the robbed motorcycle. All the suspects were arraigned in court to face the law, while the armed robbery case was transferred to the SCID, Dutse, for discreet investigation,” he said.
Adam quoted the state commissioner of police as reiterating the command resolve to sustain intelligence led policing.
“The Commissioner of Police, Jigawa State Police Command, CP Tijjani Murtala, psc, mnips, reiterated the Command’s resolve to sustain intelligence-led policing, surveillance, and coordinated operations to prevent and dismantle criminal activities across the state.
“The CP further warned criminals and their collaborators to desist from criminal activities or be prepared to face the full weight of the law, stressing that Jigawa State remains hostile to criminal elements,”
