Police Dislodge Kidnappers In Sabuwa, Katsina State
Police operatives have successfully thwarted attempt by bandits to block Inono feeder road by Gidan Zuma village in Sabuwa Local Government Area of Katsina State.
The police responded to credible information that a group of suspected armed bandits wielding dangerous weapons such as AK-47 rifles, riding on motorcycles, attempted to block the Inono feeder road at about 8pm on March 19.
The operatives, led by the DPO Sabuwa Divisional Police Headquarters, dislodged the bandits and thwarted their attempt to kidnap unsuspecting commuters.
A statement issued on Friday by the Katsina command spokesman of the Police, DSP Abubakar Sadiq Aliyu said after exchange of fire, the bandits fled leaving behind a motorcycle.
“Efforts are being intensified to arrest the fleeing suspects as operatives comb the area,” he said.
He said that the Commissioner of Police in the state has hailed the bravery and swift response of the operatives, saying they have once again demonstrated a commitment to ensuring the protection of lives and properties of the good people of Katsina State.
