Ramadan Feeding: Jigawa Commissioner Returns N301m To Govt Treasury

The Jigawa state Commissioner for Special Duties, Alhaji Auwalu Danladi Sankara has returned to government treasury a total of N301 million balance of the money released to the ministry for the 2025 Ramadan feeding programme.

The Jigawa State Government released N4.8 billion to the ministry to feed indigent citizens across the state during the just concluded Ramadan fasting.

The Syndicate recalls that 638 feeding centers were set up across the state with each expected to provide food to 300 people daily.

Sankara, who presented report of the Ramadan feeding programme to the State Executive Council at its meeting in Dutse, said N301 million of the money released was not spent and has been returned to government coffers.

According to the report, more that 5.5 million people were fed during the 29 days of the Islamic month of Ramadan.

The state executive council commended Sankara for what it  described as his “true demonstration of accountability and transparency.”
