Why we went to court over Jigawa PDP congresses – Anas-Adamu

A chieftain of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Jigawa state, Alhaji Abbas Anas Adamu, has given reasons why they dragged the party to court over the recently concluded state and local government congresses.
The Syndicate reports that the case was filed before the Federal High Court in Dutse, the state capital, on May 7, in suit number FHC/DT/CS/19/2024.
Adamu told newsmen on Tuesday shortly after the court fixed May 28 for mention, said that their prayer was for the court to quash the congresses and order for fresh election.
According to him, the processes leading to the congresses did not follow the party’s guidelines and constitution, marred by irregularities, and allegedly conducted in private homes, with the state excos appointed instead going through elections.
He further claìmed that the party leadership has been a one man show, denying other members equal rights and previleges.
Adamu said that the party leadership should be fair to all, to avoid problems.
